The CNY Fiber Artists and Producers was proud to have offered our first edition of The Guide in 2013. We were sure it would be a valuable marketing tool for our supporting members and sponsors and that would be a useful resource for people seeking information about sources of fiber, fiber animals, fiber equipment, mills, fiber processing, finished products and other services related to fiber animals and fiber arts. Available free to the public, it contained contact information and descriptions of products and services offered by our supporting members and sponsors. Each farm or business entity represented had been assigned a number to match a corresponding placement number on an area map. The Guide included an index by category of products and services should you be interested in searching for specific needs. Each new edition came out in June to be offered initially at the annual CNY Fiber Festival; this booklet was also distributed at other festivals and to fiber guilds, shops, and mills.  In addition, we have brought The Guide to this website so you could access it anytime you had internet service - on the road included! The 2014 edition was our last.  We learned that festival attendees found it confusing to be handed both a festival program and a resouce guide as they entered the festival.  In addition, we found that for those members who had advertised in The Guide, the marketing benefits were not as hoped.  Because it cost us quite a bit of money to produce The Guide, and we thought that money would be better spent on festival advertising that would benefit both festival vendors and all members, we decided to completely eliminate this publication. In 2015, we combined the information into one publication.  Those members who previously advertised in The Guide are now submitting ads for the festival program.  We hope that those who attend the festival will not only hold onto the programs as a souvenir of a great summer weekend but will also hold onto it as a resource of fiber related products and services as The Guide's original purpose was intended.  If you were not able to attend the last Festival and would like a program, contact Pam, our President (contact info is on the Organization page).  We usually order a few extras just for this purpose.
